Plastic production capacity gradually recovers

Affected by the Spring Festival holiday, my country's plastic production usually shows a seasonal decline in February. However, after the Spring Festival, as production enterprises resume work and production one after another, capacity utilization rate recovers rapidly. It is reported that the maintenance devices of domestic Qilu Petrochemical, Tianjin Petrochemical, Wanhua Chemical, Maoming Petrochemical and other enterprises have been restarted one after another recently. The above-mentioned enterprises used the Spring Festival shutdown period to maintain and update the equipment. These measures can improve production efficiency and enhance the stability of equipment after the holiday, which will help to increase the overall output of plastics.
Against the background of rising supply pressure, the social inventory of plastics has grown steadily. According to statistics, as of February 7, the inventory of polyethylene social sample warehouses in my country was 579,900 tons, a slight increase of 56,200 tons per week, and a sharp increase of 10.73% month-on-month. In terms of varieties, the inventory of HDPE social sample warehouses increased by 7.89% month-on-month, the inventory of LLDPE social sample warehouses increased by 12.59% month-on-month, and the inventory of LDPE social sample warehouses increased by 11.32% month-on-month. According to seasonal rules, the pressure of plastic inventory accumulation will remain high in the next month and will continue to rise. The accumulation will not end until late March, and the inventory destocking cycle will begin.
